An investigation is underway after two balaclava clad men allegedly stole an electric bike “at knifepoint".

The terrifying theft is said to have happened on Conway Avenue, Whitefield on the evening of Sunday, November 26.

Police say that the Sur-Ron Electric bike was stolen at some point between 7pm and 7.30pm.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Officers from Bury's Neighbourhood Crime Team are appealing for anybody in the Conway Avenue area of Whitefield to check their CCTV and Ring doorbell footage in relation to an incident that occurred on Sunday the 26/11/2023.

“Between 7pm and 7.30pm a Sur-Ron Electric bike was stolen at knife point on Conway Avenue in Whitefield.

“The victim was approached by two males in balaclavas from the direction of Clyde Avenue before stealing the bike and driving off towards Bury Old Road.”

They added: “We believe this to be a targeted incident with no wider threat to the local community.”

Officers have provided a photograph showing the “distinctive” red and black coloured bike.

Anyone with any information or ring doorbell footage showing the suspected theft has been urged to contact police.
