A sinkhole opened up in the middle of a borough road at the weekend, causing disruption to motorists.
The hole appeared on Church Lane in Whitefield on Saturday, December 9, near to its junction with Bury New Road.
Cones have been placed around it, with traffic able to pass.
Due to the sinkhole, a number of bus stops on the road are out of use.
One resident said: “It was at the bottom of the road. It was right in the middle of the road.
“It appeared on Saturday. Someone was looking at it on Saturday and put cones over it.
“It is only about the size of half of a door mat. But it could have got bigger.”
Another resident said that it was "affecting bus passengers".
A notice on the Bee Network website on Sunday said: “Buses are unable to use Church Lane due to a sinkhole. Service will divert via Radcliffe New Road and Bury New Road.
“You can get on and off at all stops on the diversion route.”
Impacted stops for the 98 service are Church Lane/All Saints Stand Church, Church Lane/Bury New Road, Church Lane/near Higher Lane and Church Lane/opposite Higher Lane.
The diversion was said to be in place from Saturday until the end of today, Monday.
A spokesperson for Bury Council said: "Temporary repairs have been carried out, and permanent repairs will be carried out tomorrow."
This comes after a huge sinkhole opened up in nearby Prestwich earlier this year.
The hole appeared in the middle of Heywood Road, blocking traffic from passing due to its size.
